When opening a box of freshly arrived art supplies a scalpel fell onto the canvas. Under a thick drop of blood-red acrylic, the wound is now healed. And I like the result so much that I declare the painting as finished.
An art critic can think of these contrasts of form (three-dimensional ball in front of a flat background), colour and material (undiluted, strong acrylic paint versus ink in delicate shades) as a metaphor for the interplay of fragility and stability.
