The trigger to paint “Seeko’o” was a hot, stressful day when I was longing for cooling and calm.
“Art means not knowing that the world already exists, and making one.”Rainer Maria Rilke
While painting, I remembered the impressive photos of the Antarctic trip of a friend and the film “Shackleton” about the legendary polar explorer with Kenneth Branagh in the lead role “hike through Antarctica in your mind’s eye … let your eyes wander over a frozen sea with waves in fantastic shapes. Alternating icebergs, like fairy locks, pearly shimmering in cobalt blue … and silence. Silence. Absolute silence.”
The title “Seeko’o” is “iceberg” in the language of the Inuit.
I hope my minimalist, abstract painting will give you a lot of pleasure, peace and relaxation.
