The Lorelei is a rock on the bank of the River Rhine in Germany and added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The rock and the murmur it creates have inspired various tales. Heinrich Heine’s famous poem describes the eponymous female as a sort of siren who, sitting on the cliff above the Rhine and combing her golden hair, unwittingly distracted shipmen with her beauty and song, causing them to crash on the rocks. Can you find her in my painting?

I have used a variety of techniques: from watercolor-like acrylic painting with acrylic imprints made using genuine birch leaves, drawings with pencil, others with rollerpen or felt tip pen, stamp imprint from ink, stencil with marker, to the collage with the paper birch, which, in the upper part, frees a window to the distant, abstractly indicated Cologne Cathedral.

But now enough of my words! I hope you like my interpretation of the “Lorelei” and of discoveries that I have not anticipated in this text.
